Laying out the roadmap for the Modi government's second term, President Ram Nath Kovind made a strong pitch for ushering in a "new India by 2022" in his address to the joint session of Parliament on Thursday. He urged that the new government should carry on the "uninterrupted journey of development" which started in 2014 when the country emerged out a sense of "gloom and instability" after three decades.
